Chainalytics’ Ashley Thompson Among Top Women in Supply Chain

Atlanta, GA (September 23, 2020) – Chainalytics, a recognized global leader in supply chain consulting and analytics, announced today that Ashley Thompson has been selected by Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine as a recipient of the first annual Women in Supply Chain award.

Ashley is a director in Chainalytics’ Supply Chain Design consulting practice. Over the last 15 years, she’s built her career by applying advanced analytics and optimization to large-scale, complex supply chain problems, helping dozens of leading manufacturers and retailers. A fan favorite — both inside and outside the firm — Ashley has also been instrumental in growing Chainalytics’ office in Denver, Colorado and she serves as a trusted mentor for many of her fellow employees.

“Ashley is most deserving of this honor,” explained Steve Ellet, Sr. Vice President of Supply Chain Design at Chainalytics. “She is an integral part of our global supply chain design team, excelling both in her client-facing role as well as leading the next generation of supply chain talent.”

Before joining Chainalytics, Ashley spent the better part of a decade at The Coca-Cola Company, rising from Logistics Consultant to Director of Last Mile Delivery and DSD Planning and Logistics Services, where she led a team of 80 managers, engineers, and planners. Prior to that, she started as a process engineer at a regional airline carrier based in Atlanta. Ashley earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Systems and Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

The Women in Supply Chain award honors female supply chain leaders and executives whose accomplishments, mentorship, and example have laid a foundation for women at all levels of a company’s supply chain organization.

“We received over 200 entries for this new award, submitted by a combination of men and women. This proves that our industry needed an award like this, especially in conjunction with Supply & Demand Chain Executive’s 20th anniversary,” says Marina Mayer, editor-in-chief of Supply & Demand Chain Executive and Food Logistics. “According to Gartner’s 2020 Women in Supply Chain Survey, 17% of chief supply chain officers are now women. This award represents females supporting other female leaders, and men supporting their female counterparts. It resembles the future. It represents growth, evolution, and community. And that it’s a great time to be a part of the supply chain industry.”

Chainalytics congratulates the entire list of 2020 Women in Supply Chain award recipients.
