Demand Planning & Forecasting During COVID-19 [Webinar]

Last month, Chainalytics’ Neelesh Asati moderated a panel discussion on demand planning and forecasting during COVID-19 hosted by Logistics Insider. It was an engaging conversation between supply chain veterans from Kellogg India, Flipkart, 3SC, and CJ Darcl.

For supply chain practitioners, or anyone interested in the current supply chain situation in India, these 90 minutes presented an opportunity to hear how leading companies are navigating supply chain planning during COVID-19.

Here’s some of our biggest takeaways from the conversation:

  • Consumption has picked back up, recovering from the initial demand shock that hit in February and March 2020.
  • Data, including advanced analytics and AI, can be leveraging during times of disruption to power demand forecasting.
  • Collaboration between logistics service providers is more important than ever to serve your customers.
  • Likely, a certain percentage of shopping has permanently shifted online, though some volume will revert to pre-pandemic levels.
  • We will most likely see further adoption of 3PL and logistics outsourcing.
  • Firms need to focus on SKU rationalization and the urgent need for planning systems to support rapid re-planning and “what-if” analyses.
